https://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2019/CA-NorthernCaliforniaandNorthernNevada?fr_id=12091&pg=entryAlzheimer's disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the United States and the only disease among the top 10 leading causes of death that cannot currently be prevented, cured, or even slowed. The Alzheimer's Association supports and advocates for patient care and caregiver support and is a longtime supporter of UCSF's Alzheimer's and dementia research. Currently, over 30 active grants at UCSF are funded by the Alzheimer's Association.
This year, UCSF is adding a new dimension to its commitment to eliminating this disease, by partnering with the Alzheimer's Association to build a coalition of UCSF teams for San Francisco's Walk to End Alzheimer's event on November 9. Our goal is to rally the UCSF community around this cause — to raise awareness about the disease and fundraise for the fight to end it.
