Understanding Abuse and Preterm Birth: What Can Be Done?

The California Preterm Birth Initiative's March Collaboratory

More than 1 in 4 women experience interpersonal violence. For pregnant women, this abuse has been shown to increase their risk of delivering preterm (before 37 weeks). Early delivery is also associated with an increased risk of abuse for infants born prematurely. For the March Collaboratory, our monthly discussion series, we will discuss the hard truths that link domestic violence and preterm birth and how we can come together in the name of prevention.
