UCCSC 2018 at UC Davis

UC Davis will host UC-wide computing conference for 2018

UC Davis will host the next annual University of California Computing Services Conference on Aug. 13-15, 2018. The theme this year is “sustainable technology.”

The conference is open to any faculty and staff who work in IT or are interested in information technology. Presentations are generally designed for IT professionals, but some sessions will cover topics that also apply outside IT, such as project management, service delivery and procurement.

“If you are interested in learning how other campuses are addressing technology issues and challenges, or if you want to build a network of professional IT colleagues within the UC system, you should attend,” said conference Chair Anita Nichols, Client Services manager for Information and Educational Technology.

The Davis planning committee has members from more than 20 campus units and departments, plus UC Davis Health.

The conference draws up to 500 technology professionals from throughout the university, including technical support staff, system administrators, unit directors and managers, librarians, information security experts, service managers, and others.

The conference last met in Davis in 2009. It originated at UC Santa Cruz in 1982, when 21 people gathered in one conference room to talk about academic software.
