Are you interested in learning more about programming languages, data management, and
analytical tools? UC is excited to announce the 2024 UC Carpentries Fall Workshop Series: Coding and Data Management Skills. This virtual workshop series, held from September 9 to 20, is designed to
teach essential concepts, skills, and tools for researchers at the University of California.
Participants can register for individual session topics or the entire series, free of charge. Workshop sessions include:

  • R in RStudio
  • Python in Jupyter Notebook
  • Introduction to the Unix Shell
  • Version Control with Git
  • SQL
  • Tidy Data
  • OpenRefine

Our aim is to empower researchers with the computing skills necessary for effective research analysis. Whether you’re new to coding or looking to enhance your data management abilities, this workshop series has something for everyone.

Requirements: Participants must have access to a computer with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc.) that they have administrative privileges on. They should have a few specific software packages installed (see list).
