DESCRIPTION:In “Flying Ann”\, the filmmakers present a compelling portr
ait of 11-year-old Anne\, who is struggling with Tourette’s syndrome in
her school setting. In “Perfect”\, Julius meets with his psychologist
after what he considers to be a disastrous first date due to his involunt
ary tics and odd preoccupations associated with his Obsessive Compulsive D
isorder. Together\, these films present moving but candid portrayals of t
he struggles of two people with disabilities which are all but invisible t
o most\, but present excruciating challenges for those trying to overcome
 them.\n\nAfter the films\, Caitlin R. Costello\, M.D.\, Associate Professo
r of Medicine in the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry\, Departmen
t of Psychiatry will chair a panel to discuss the films and take questions
  from the audience.
