DESCRIPTION:Are you 18-40 years old with a brain tumor diagnosis? Join UCSF
  neuro-oncologist Jessica Schulte\, MD\, PhD\, as she discusses the unique
  challenges faced by young adults living with a brain or spinal cord tumor
 . She will cover the various physical and lifestyle issues specific to the
  young adult population and offer recommended resources and strategies.  W
 e will also hear from two young survivors\, Anastasia Golovashkina and Jer
 emy Pivor\, on how they have experienced and addressed some of their chall
 enges. \n\nWednesday\, May 19\n5:30 - 6:45 pm: presentation with Dr. Schul

 red.\n\nPanelist Bios:\nAnastasia Golovashkina develops and directs innova
 tive digital strategies for progressive campaigns and organizations. In 20
 19\, two weeks into starting as Warren for President's Social Media Direct
 or\, Anastasia was diagnosed with a billiard ball-sized glioblastoma\, con
 tinuing to work full-time through a full course of treatment—and doublin
 g down on her commitment to politics and activism. Before serving as Eliza
 beth Warren's Social Media Director\, Anastasia launched and led the Socia
 l Media Department at Trilogy Interactive\, to which she now returns as a 
 Senior Director. Her work recruiting millions of supporters\, multiplying 
 content engagements\, and raising millions of dollars through channels has
  won her a Silver Pollie for Best Use of Social Media and a Women in Conte
 nt Marketing Award.\n\nJeremy Pivor is the Senior Program Coordinator for 
 the Planetary Health Alliance based at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Pub
 lic Health\, where he coordinates a global consortium of 250 organizations
  from 50+ countries focused on the human health impacts of global environm
 ental change. For over a decade\, he has worked in environmental conservat
 ion\, international climate change diplomacy\, and public health. His cons
 ervation efforts have brought him around the world from the United States\
 , Madagascar\, the Sargasso Sea\, the Coral Triangle region in Southeast A
 sia\, to Indonesia Borneo.\n\nAs a brain cancer survivor\, when Jeremy is 
 not focusing on environmental and public health\, he passionately advocate
 s for the brain tumor and young adult cancer communities through writing\,
  public speaking\, fundraising\, and lobbying with organizations like the 
 National Brain Tumor Society and Dana Farber. He served as a patient ambas
 sador on palliative care for the EndWell Foundation and co-moderates a mon
 thly brain tumor social media Twitter chat (#BTSM). His writing has been f
 eatured in the Washington Post\, CURE magazine\, and several other publica
 tions. \n\nJeremy received a master’s degree in Health and Medical Scien
 ces from U.C. Berkeley – UC. San Francisco’s Joint Medical Program. In
  addition to his research on the intersection of human and environmental h
 ealth\, Jeremy wrote an illness narrative of his experience going through 
 a second recurrence of brain cancer only nine months into medical school. 
 He was originally diagnosed at the age of twelve\, had a recurrence when h
 e was 23\, and given the rare molecular make-up of his tumor\, is now unde
 rgoing experimental treatments for the new tumor growth. Jeremy loves to s
 pend time with his family (particularly his baby nephews) and go sailing.
