Monday, December 13, 2021 9am to 12pm

Add to calendar

Led by:

Josette Rivera, MD and Catherine Lomen-Hoerth, MD

There are many different models for leadership, and an extensive literature on leadership styles. While there is no single “best” model, understanding these models and getting some insight on your own style is essential for development of effective leadership skills. Similarly, there is no single, comprehensive and generally agreed upon list of leadership skills, yet published frameworks have much overlap. We will build on the LEAD certificate program from the AAMC/GEA in our discussion of leadership skills and utilize previously described models for developing a vision, mission and individual development plan.

At the end of the session, learners will be able to:

Define leadership
Identify key leadership knowledge, skills and habits
Reflect upon one’s own leadership styles and strengths
Create a personal mentoring and career development plan
