University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

The UCSF Center for Health Equity in Surgery and Anesthesia (CHESA) Fellowship is a one-year, multidisciplinary fellowship open to trainees and faculty worldwide who are building careers focused on reducing surgical disparities through research, education, and advocacy.

Join us for this UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS) Grand Rounds to hear an overview of the program from CHESA Fellowship co-directors Dr. Lia Jacobson and Dr. Sriranjani Padmanabhan. We will spotlight Dr. Nathan Brand, UCSF surgery resident and CHESA Fellow alumni, and his mentor Dr. Larry Akoko, associate professor of Surgery at MUHAS, who collaborated on a project to increase access to high quality laparoscopic training and create a community of East African laparoscopic trainees and educators.
