 ine\n\nIn this workshop\, members of the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical 
 Educators demonstrate the use of an educator's portfolio to document evid
 ence of the quantity\, quality\, and scholarly contributions of educator ac
 tivities. As a supplement the traditional CV\, the educator's portfolio c
 an benefit UCSF educators in securing academic advancements as well as stre
 ngthening their applications to the Academy of Medical Educators. During th
 e last hour\, representatives of the School of Medicine Academic Affairs of
 fice will present general information about successful academic advancement
 .\n\nAt the conclusion of the workshop\, participants will be able to:\n\nD
 escribe an educator's portfolio and the rationale for using one.\nIdentify 
 the five components of the educator's portfolio and the criteria for judgin
 g each.\nExplain how a portfolio can be incorporated into advancement and p
 romotion considerations.\nInitiate writing own portfolio.\nList tips for ap
 plying to the Academy of Medical Educators using a portfolio.\nReview UCSF 
 promotion processes and how a portfolio relates to Advance.\n\nAdvance Prep
 aration\n\nBecause this is a working session\, each participant must bring 
 a portable computing device to use to work on their own portfolio during th
 e session.\n\n \n\nUCSF is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Cont
 inuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physic
 ians.\n\nUCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Cat
 egory 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with
  the extent of their participation in the activity.\n\nThe above credit is 
 inclusive of all UCSF Educational Skills Workshops and the Teaching Scholar
 s Program. Credit available for this event only is 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Cre
