 velopment in Medical Education\nUCSF School of Medicine\n\nNow that educat
 ional programs are expected to address the six general competencies\, facu
 lty must begin to think about the teaching and assessment methods they use
 . Faculty need to learn to use program-wide performance data to inform cur
 ricular change. Participants will spend the afternoon discussing their cur
 rent teaching and assessment methods\, implementation strategies\, and cha
 llenges. For each competency\, several best practices will be identified a
 nd shared.\n\nAt the end of this session\, participants should be able to:
 \n\nExamine their program’s evaluation system in light of others’ expe
 riences.Identify best teaching and assessment practices and understand wha
 t has led to their success.Consider the steps necessary to prepare your pr
 ogram for a site visit.Identify effective methods for teaching that target
  the competency areas.Set personal goals for applying the skills learned i
 n this workshop to one's own practice setting\, and review a tool designed
  to assess the performance of new teaching skills.UCSF is accredited by th
 e Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide contin
 uing medical education for physicians.\n\nUCSF designates this live activi
 ty for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should cl
 aim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in
  the activity.\n\nThe above credit is inclusive of all UCSF Educational Sk
 ills Workshops and the Teaching Scholars Program. Credit available for thi
 s event only is 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.\n\nFor the purpose of rec
 ertification\, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Ca
 tegory 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.\n\nThe
  California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education
  those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice an
 d have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.\n\nUCSF Educational
  Skills Workshops and Med Ed Grand Rounds have been approved by UCSF Rehab
