University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice invite you to join us on Tuesday, January 25th at 3:00 PM for a discussion called “Taking Action: Needs in Trans and Gender Non-Conforming API Care” via Zoom. The talk will feature Jasmin Hoo and Leo Hegde, Community Organizers with APIENC, a local organization that focuses on building transgender, non-binary, and queer Asian Pacific Islander power. Jasmin and Leo invite you to learn about the needs for trans Asian and Pacific Islander patients and what care rooted in solidarity looks like.

Through organizing in the Bay Area, APIENC inspires and trains grassroots leaders, transforms their values from scarcity to abundance, and partners with organizations to sustain a vibrant movement ecosystem.

You can register for the talk here and learn more about APIENC’s work by reading their blog posts. This lecture is free to attend but donations to the APIENC are strongly encouraged.

This event was planned by a diverse group of UCSF staff who organized in response to the ongoing racial injustices. The goal of the UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice monthly speaker series is to promote critical thinking and action around intersectional structures of power, privilege, and racial oppression in clinical care, education, and beyond. We will continue to highlight the efforts of community antiracism activists.
