STEP-UP Advanced (6 meetings)

Note: Registration required (Register through Eventbrite)

In this course, participants who have completed the STEP-UP Introduction to Pedagogy course will have the opportunity to apply the “scientific teaching” principles to develop a teaching demonstration and begin creating a teaching portfolio (including a syllabus and assessments aligned with learning outcomes) on a topic of their choice.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

  • Develop or update a course outline using the backward design approach

  • Develop learning outcomes and corresponding assessments using Bloom’s Taxonomy

  • Develop lesson plans to allow students to construct their knowledge from evidence

  • Develop and evaluate a teaching demonstration and the accompanying assessment
