BCHSI Special Invited Seminar
Topic: "Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Decision Making Across Modalities"

Lunch Served 12:30 – 1:00 pm Seminar 1:10 – 2:00 pm
Rock Hall Auditorium & by Zoom

In place of the monthly BCHSI-wide Lab meeting, we will host Dr. Dvir Aran, who is currently a Visiting Scholar at UCSF - join us in welcoming him!

FEATURED SPEAKER
Dvir Aran, PhD, Associate Professor
Faculty of Biology\Taub Faculty of Computer Science
Technion -Israel Institute of Technology

In this seminar, Dr. Aran will present two recent works that illustrate how artificial intelligence can democratize clinical decision-making. The first develops a deep learning model that predicts breast cancer recurrence risk directly from histopathology images, offering a scalable alternative to costly molecular assays. The second introduces a conversational, multi-agent AI system for neurological diagnosis, which achieves higher accuracy than physicians while reducing costs. Together, these studies show how AI can extend expert-level decision support to settings with limited resources, advancing both equity and efficiency in clinical care.
