A Conversation with Lisa Gill, Consumer Reports and Adams Dudley, MD, MBA, Director, UCSF Center for Healthcare Value

Sponsored by: The UCSF Center for Healthcare Value and The Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies

Drug prices in the United States are twice what they are in Great Britain and are rising much faster than prices for other products. At this session, Consumer Reports writer Lisa Gill will describe the impact on consumers and outline ways to keep your drug costs down. Adams Dudley, a physician from the University of California, San Francisco, will describe the clinical situations in which the impact of high prices are felt and how doctors and patients can talk to each other. Then both of them will engage the audience in a discussion of what could be done to address high drug prices.

Lisa Gill is the deputy editor of Consumer Reports Best Buy Drugs, a program that focuses on using comparative effectiveness, survey and secret shopper data to evaluate common medications' safety, effectiveness, cost, and access.

Adams Dudley is a Professor of Medicine and Health Policy at UCSF and Director of UCSF’s Center for Healthcare Value.
