DESCRIPTION:* Please note this workshop requires participation from Jan 24-
 26\, 2024.*\n\nThis 3 day workshop (via Zoom) will provide an opportunity f
 or participants to work collaboratively and independently to improve their 
 writing. The focus is on scholarly writing in health professions education 
 (e.g.\, writing about innovations in health professions education for stude
 nts\, residents\, fellows\, faculty\; research on education topics\; review
 s of education topics\; perspectives\, commentaries as they relate to educa
 tion). Each day will include a combination of interactive presentations\, a
 pplication exercises\, discussions\, and independent writing time with opti
 ons for consultations/feedback.\n\nPresenters include:\n\nToni Gallo from t
 he senior editorial staff of Academic MedicineAnna Cianciolo from Southern 
 Illinois University and the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Teaching and Lea
 rning in MedicineBridget O'Brien from UCSF\, associate editor at Academic M
 edicine Author Panel sharing tips and strategies for scholarly writing.Lear
 ning Objectives:\n\nWrite with more confidence & joy (and/or less fear & dr
 ead)Write more clearly\, concisely\, and compellinglyPlan a way to write mo
 re consistently and efficientlyIn Your Registration: Please provide a brief
  description of the manuscript you plan to work on during the writing works
 hop. It can be a research paper\, innovation description\, commentary/persp

 m\n\nUCSF is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical
  Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF des
 ignates this live activity for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of th
 eir participation in the activity. The above credit is inclusive of all UCS
 F Educational Skills Workshops and the Teaching Scholars Program. Credit av
 ailable for this event only is 18 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. For the purp
 ose of recertification\, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts A
 MA PRA Category 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. 
 The California Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional educati
 on those courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice a
 nd have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. UCSF Educational Skil
 ls Workshops and Med Ed Grand Rounds have been approved by UCSF Rehabilitat
 ive Services for up to 7 continuing education hours per year total. Questio
 ns regarding this approval should be directed to (415) 514-6779. Psychology
 : This educational activity is recognized by the California Board of Psycho
 logy as meeting the continuing education requirements toward license renewa
 l for California psychologists. Psychologists are responsible for reporting
