Mind-Body Program Integrated within Shared Medical Visits for Older Adults with Chronic Pain in an Underserved Community Clinic

Ana-Maria Vranceanu, PhD

Ana-Maria Vranceanu, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, the David T. Rovee, PhD, and Joanne V. Rovee Professor of Psychology at Harvard Medical School, and Director of the Center for Health Outcomes and Interdisciplinary Research (CHOIR) at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Her research program is focused on the development, testing, and implementation of mind-body interventions in hospital and community settings, with an emphasis on chronic pain, cognitive decline,  interpersonal processes, and older adults. Dr. Vranceanu has been PI on more than 30 reserach grants. She co-leads the MGH Roybal Center for Behavioral Intervention, the Research and Education Core of the MGH Resource Center for Minority Research, and the Outreach and Engagement Core of the MGH ADRC. She finds great joy in teaching and mentoring. With support from a K24 she developed a "K club," which led to 17 awarded K23. She also co-leads a T32 and an R25 focused on intervention development and clinical trials.
