Emerging Scholarship in Integrative Health Equity

Eushavia Bogan, BA; Andrea Haidar, MS, MA; LCSW Elondra Harr, MPH

This research seminar presents selected research published in the Global Advances in Integrative Medicine and Health’s special collection, "Advancing the Science of Integrative Health Equity." The invited speakers have participated in the Integrative Health and Applied Research (IHEAR) Summer Training Program at the UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Health.

Eushavia Bogan, BA is a future primary care physician who believes investment in preventive medicine, environmental stewardship, and equitable community-building are central to advancing public health. After completing a BA in Environmental Studies, Eushavia spent almost a decade organizing with community stakeholders to strengthen food sovereignty before beginning medical school at UCSF. At medical school, they have built on this experience by helping produce a local zine fair, supporting student interest in family medicine, and collaborating with fellow students to create learning opportunities focused on health policy. Eushavia is dedicated to collectively developing interdisciplinary care models that weave together compassion, art, political education, and joy to foster inclusive healing and holistic community well-being.

Andrea Haidar, MS, MA, LCSW, is a PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She is also a certified yoga teacher and a licensed clinical social worker with a master’s from the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on advancing integrative health equity through the development of culturally responsive mind-body interventions to reduce stress and promote resilience.

Elondra Harr, MPH (she/her) is a fourth year PhD student in Community Health Education in the Department of Public Health Education at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. Her research focuses on examining structural factors that shape access to equitable maternal care for Black women living in rural North Carolina.

The Osher Center for Integrative Health hosts monthly research seminars that are open to the research and clinical community at large. Seminars are held from September to June and are generally virtual. Presentations cover a wide range of topics relating to integrative health, many with a focus on integrative health equity.

Research Seminars are organized by Osher research faculty, Ariana Thompson-Lastad, PhD. Please contact Julia Wu (julia.wu@ucsf.edu) with any questions.
