University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

Department of Epidemiologist & Biostatistics Presents:

Speaker: Kathryn L. Penney, ScD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Harvard Medical School

It is increasingly recognized that the tumor microenvironment plays a critical role in prostate cancer progression. Dr. Penney is exploring RNA-seq of stroma-enriched tissue in population-based cohorts to assess associations of stromal gene expression with grade and lethal disease. These expression data, combined with other available molecular data, will be used to develop biomarkers of lethal disease and improve our understanding of aggressive prostate cancer.
