Join us for a fun ride through the city from UCSF Parnassus to Mission Bay utilizing (mostly) slow streets and marked bike lanes. Kids are welcome to join.
We will discuss the pros and cons of bike commuting between campuses, alternate routes between campuses, and highlight the opportunity for a protected bike corridor connecting the two campuses, including Safer 17th and needed improvement in bike infrastructure at UCSF and the city in general.
Start - Saturday, October 8th - 10:00 a.m. at 400 Parnassus Ave. UCSF Ambulatory Care Center (ACC building).
End around - 12:00 p.m. Refreshments following at Harmonic Brewery - Thrive City at Warriors Stadium - http://harmonicbrewing.com/ (optional)
Route - We will start at 400 Parnassus Ave and pass through Cole Valley. We will cycle Page Street (an awesome slow street) to Market. Crossing Market Street we'll take the protected bike lanes on Valencia, passing through the fabulous Mission District. Next, we take 17th street bike lanes to Mission Bay, crossing over to 16th street to UCSF Mission Bay. The ride ends after crossing 3rd street to Harmonic Brewery at Warrior's Stadium/Chase Center for some refreshments.
Hosted by Dr. Sang-Mo Kang, UCSF Bikes! and the Potrero Boosters and Dogpatch Neighborhood Associations' Livable Streets Committee.
