Description:
Looking for help on how to write a persuasive cover letter or a letter of intent?
Join the OCPD for an interactive workshop and panel that will teach you how to craft a customized letter and give you opportunities to participate in activities that will help you compose a more effective document.
Our two panelists, UCSF's own Dr. Megan Conrad and Dr. Ashley Thompson, will be answering your questions on what hiring managers look for, and what to avoid, in cover letters and letters of intent. If you've ever wondered what you can do to make your application stand out this is the place to get your questions answered.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop you will be able to:
Identify the purpose, structure and style of a well-written cover letter and/or letter of intent
Recognize the most common mistakes that applicants make when writing letters
Discuss what hiring managers look for in application materials and interviews, as well as outline how to prepare to be the most competitive applicant possible
Please Note:
Lunch will be provided during this session. Please be sure to register for this event in order to secure your meal.
