DESCRIPTION:Zoom information will be sent to participants the week prior to
  the session.\n\n \n\nLed by:\nGlenn Rosenbluth\, MD\, Julia Adler-Milstei
 n\, PhD\, Benjamin Rosner\, MD\, PhD\, Sara Murray\, MD\n\nMedical educato
rs are increasingly looking to the electronic health record (EHR) to descr
ibed learner outcomes. However most educators lack the necessary technical
skills to harvest data from the EHR\, and therefore depend on collaborati
on with informaticists. The UCSF Center for Clinical Informatics and Impro
vement Research (CLIIR) was created to help understand how to use digital
tools to improve quality and value of healthcare. In this presentation we
will discuss several recent collaborations between UCSF medical educators
and the CLIIR team. The first project explores the challenges of patient-a
ttribution to individual providers\, particularly those who may have a lim
ited digital footprint (e.g. supervising residents). The second project us
es EHR logs to better understand trainee duty hours. The third project aim
s to create a “digital growth chart” of trainee milestones in EHR usag
e.\n\n \n\nAt the end of this session\, participants will be able to:\n\nD
escribe examples of resources within UCSF for accessing and using EHR data
\nIdentify the types of projects which can be enhanced through collaborati
on between educators and informaticists\n\n \n\nUCSF is accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continui
ng medical education for physicians.\n\nUCSF designates this live activity
for a maximum of 50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should clai
m only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in t
he activity.\n\nThe above credit is inclusive of all UCSF Educational Skil
ls Workshops and the Teaching Scholars Program. Credit available for this
event only is 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.\n\nFor the purpose of recer
tification\, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA Cate
gory 1 Credit™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.\n\nThe C
alifornia Board of Pharmacy accepts as continuing professional education t
hose courses that meet the standard of relevance to pharmacy practice and
have been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.\n\nUCSF Educational S
kills Workshops and Med Ed Grand Rounds have been approved by UCSF Rehabil
itative Services for up to 7 continuing education hours per year total. Qu
estions regarding this approval should be directed to (415) 514-6779.\n\nC
