MedEd Grand Rounds: Tango, Educational Environments and Student Evaluations: A Perspective from Sweden

Per J. Palmgren is a university lecturer in medical education and an educational scientist from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. He has been working with medical education since 2008 and affiliated with the Karolinska Institutet since 2011. During the talk at the UCSF he will present his doctoral project on educational environments which he publicly defended in 2016. He will also address an ongoing research project on clinical learning and students’ self-perceived quality of life and stress, and outline the quality assurance and evaluation work that he is involved with in Sweden.

At the end of the talk participants should be able to:

  • Define the concept of educational environments
  • List ways that educational environments can be investigated.
  • Describe the quality assurance process and evaluation work at a large medical northern European university.
