We enthusiastically welcome one of the world's experts on clinical reasoning, Dr. Henk Schmidt, to UCSF. Dr. Schmidt is a pioneer in clinical reasoning in medicine and has been recognized for his research through awards such as the Karolinska Institutet award for excellence in research in medical education, and many others.

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the role of context in the clinical reasoning process.
  • Identify how context influences diagnostic decision making and what if anything can be done to moderate that influence in clinical decision making.
