About this Event
UCSF Healthcare Through a Local Lens is a varied group of UCSF staff and faculty who share a mutual passion for improving care and access for those who need it most. As part of our work, we are excited to announce a new lecture series called Know & Grow.
The goal of this lecture series is to promote critical thinking and action around structures of power and societal advantages that impact healthcare, education, and beyond. This is the inaugural event of an ongoing series that will center on the work of local educators and leaders advocating for change in these areas. The series is also in support of everyone’s opportunity to learn and grow, in hopes that what is learned will positively influence the Adult Cancer Services’ belonging efforts.
This month’s lecturers, Lunae Chrysanta and Taylor Boutelle of Open House, will present their talk “Making the ‘Invisible’ Visible: SO/GI Data Collection for LGBTQ+ Older Adults” on August 19th from 12-1pm. Open House is an organization that enables San Francisco Bay Area LGBTQ+ seniors to overcome the unique challenges they face as they age by providing housing, direct services and community programs.
You can register for this lecture here.
UCSF welcomes people with disabilities to our events. To request a reasonable accommodation for this event, please contact Lindsay Williams by emailing Lindsay.Williams@ucsf.edu as soon as possible.
