This workshop will provide a review of basic machine learning concepts, and will introduce Python and scikit-learn tools for machine learning. We will use the county and state COVID-19 datasets released by the NYTimes and the COVID-19 research dataset released by the Allen Institute. Empahsis will be on the programming work involved in preparing data, populating and building a ML model using scikit-learn libraries, and reading results.
This workshop will take place online over UCSF Zoom. Registered participants will recieve an email through LibCal with connection information the day before the workshop.
