Love in the Time of Chronic Illness

With Barbara Kivowitz, MSW

When illness enters the picture, it has a profound impact on not just the patient and family caregiver separately, but on the connection between them. And that connection, that relationship, can be a source of support, or depletion, for the partners. Based on research for her book, Love in the Time of Chronic Illness: How to Fight the Sickness, Not Each Other, Barbara will describe the ways illness affects the patient/caregiver relationship, and approaches they, and the clinicians who care for them, can use to strengthen the relationship resilience needed to cope with the challenges of illness.
