This event will be held in person at Mission Bay in Mission Hall, Room TBD. Open to early career clinical faculty (or clinical fellows who are starting a faculty position in the next year). 

Working in oncology, clinicians often encounter patients or family members who ask about donating to cancer research. This seminar will teach the basic principles of fundraising, including best practices, case studies, and role-playing exercises.

Learning Objectives:

• Explain how to use philanthropic support and why it matters
• Summarize what to do if a patient asks how they can contribute to your research program
• Describe how to approach patients/family members about donating to your program
