University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

Lactating employees and students have strong legal protections under state and federal laws. This session with Jessica Lee, Co-Director of WorkLife Law and a nationally recognized expert on the laws at the intersection of employment, education, and reproductive justice, will provide an overview of the laws and offer strategies for how to successfully implement them in your workplace.

We will explore common scenarios faced by lactating workers and students and where to turn for support, if needed

Ms. Lee’s research and advocacy has been central to the adoption of new laws and regulations that protect pregnant and lactating people across the country, including the PUMP Act. Ms. Lee advises enforcement agencies, employers, and educational institutions on best practices for supporting lactating workers and students under law.
