University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice invite you to join us on Thursday, March 24th at 12:00 PM for a discussion called “Keep that Same Energy: Code Switching and Mental Health” via Zoom. The talk will feature Porsche Veu, who is a published author, TED Talk speaker, artist, and facilitator from Oakland, CA. She aims to bridge the gap between faith and social justice, create atmospheres for conversation on racism, sexism, mental health of BIPOC, and trauma, as well as inspire others to join in these conversations to find freedom in telling their own stories and implement change.

This talk will be centered on code switching in relation to mental health and inequities.

You can register for the talk here and learn more about Porsche and her work by visiting her website: ThePoetActivist.com. This lecture is free to attend but donations to the organization, Oasis for Girls, are strongly encouraged.

This event was planned by a diverse group of UCSF staff who organized in response to the ongoing racial injustices. The goal of the UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice monthly speaker series is to promote critical thinking and action around intersectional structures of power, privilege, and racial oppression in clinical care, education, and beyond. We will continue to highlight the efforts of community antiracism activists.
