DESCRIPTION:Toby Maurer\, MD\, is Professor Emeritus in the Department of D
 ermatology\, and Affiliate Faculty at UCSF's Institute for Global Health S
 ciences. She has worked in South Africa for more than a decade\, and has b
 een instrumental in developing resdiency training programs in Dermatology 
 in Uganda and Kenya.   Her research focus is HIV dermatology with a focus 
 on Kaposis Sarcoma\, both globally and domestically. She is particularly i
 nterested in skin presentations as they reflect adherence to HIV treatment
 s\, and how dermal presentations\, including KS\, are seen more often in S
 F clinics than in years past.\n\nHIV Grand Rounds is accredited through th
 e UCSF Office of CME (ACCME Provider number 0000302).\n\nThe Division is a
  Center of Excellence for HIV/AIDS care in the Bay Area and is part of a t
 op-tier academic institution. As such\, it is uniquely positioned to host 
 this rigorous\, state-of-the-art Grand Rounds series focused on HIV issues
  relevant to current practice.\n\nWeekly lectures and discussions provide 
 the latest information on the pathogenesis and management of HIV disease\,
  complications of HIV\, and co-occurring conditions. Topics also include c
 linical case conferences\, reports from important HIV meetings\, and updat
 es on HIV research and care. Speakers include UCSF faculty and other physi
 cians\, researchers\, and HIV-care providers.\n\nSelected lectures are tap
 ed and webcast on UCSF’s HIV education and news website\, HIVInSite.\n\n
