This course covers the basics of how to pick the right bike for everyday riding in SF, the rules of the road, and route planning. This course is a great introduction for people who are considering bicycling, or looking to brush up on skills.  Lunch will be provided by UCSF Transportation.

Presentation by the SF Bike Coalition.

The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition has been transforming San Francisco streets and neighborhoods into more livable and safe places by promoting the bicycle for everyday transportation. We are one of the largest and most effective bicycle advocacy groups in the country. Through day-to-day advocacy, education and working partnerships with City and community agencies, the SF Bicycle Coalition creates safer streets and more livable communities for all San Franciscans. Get more information on maps and routes, bicycle law, urban bicycling workshops, theft and locking, issues and improvements, bike parking, and bikes on public transit.

UCSF can Join the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition for only $25 (a $10 savings).

A standing-room only turn out. Lots of new cycling-wanabes. Plus a through overview of commuter basics. Thank you Eliana of SFBC and Georgina A of UCSF Transportation for hosting this engaging event. Maybe I'll see a few more colleagues cycling to Mission Bay.
