 s\, Sr. (1926-2013) was a urologist and visionary leader in Alameda County
  and across the Bay Area. He was the founding chair of the UCSF Helen Dill
 er Family Comprehensive Cancer Community Advisory Board (HDFCCC CAB) and f
 ounding director of the Ethnic Health Institute\, now at Samuel Merritt Un
 iversity. Dr. Staggers\, Sr. worked tirelessly to eliminate health dispari
 ties for racial/ethnic minorities\, poor and underserved residents in Alam
 eda County\, statewide and at the national level. The symposium will enshr
 ine Dr. Staggers’ legacy and efforts to promote health equity and commun
 ity advocacy in the Bay Area.
