University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

Recommended prerequisite: Ideation Drawing Part 1

Following Ideation Part 1, this pop-up dives deeper into refining your visual communication skills. We will briefly recap Ideation 1, and move forward with learning how to use markers for shading. We will explore how to make new shapes and try different techniques to make your drawings more realistic.

After attending the 60-minute pop-up you will be able to:

  • Draw in perspective without guides
  • Understand the rules of shading
  • Use markers for shading
  • Combine shapes

Since this pop-up will be held on Zoom, we are unable to provide supplies. The materials you will need are a straight-edge, a pencil or ball-point pen, some paper (letter size, any kind), one small or fine tip black marker, and ideally 2 shades of grey markers (or shades of any single color, e.g. dark blue and light blue).

All Makers Lab pop-ups are open to the UCSF community. If you are a DPH employee, UCSF alum or retiree, please contact the Makers Lab to register for this pop-up.
