The Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Studies is pleased to introduce a new series - How to Impact Policy Change. This series is designed for UCSF faculty, staff, and trainees to improve their skills in interacting with policymakers and other stakeholders that influence health policy. Join us online to learn how to enhance your ability to effectively engage with policymakers to advance health.
Amiee Alden is UCSF’s Director of Local and State Government Relations. She supports UCSF’s mission and works to improve health policy by connecting UCSF leadership, faculty, and staff with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, Mayor’s office, the State Legislature, and the Governor’s Office, as well as local and state agencies. She is responsible for planning and implementing the university’s local and state government relations and advocacy efforts in San Francisco and Sacramento.
Prior to coming to UCSF, Amiee worked for State Assembly Budget Chair Phil Ting, and for then-Mayor Gavin Newsom. Amiee holds a Masters of Public Policy from UC Berkley and a B.A. from Georgetown University. She is originally from Santa Barbara, and today lives in San Francisco with her husband and 2 children.
