(1) Biostatistics and Population Research Shared Resource

Come find out how the Biostatistics and Population Research (BPR) Core can help you advance your research across all stages, from the formulation of the research question to dissemination of results, in a cost-effective, stable, and reliable way!

The mission of the BPR Core is to ensure scientific rigor, efficiency, and reproducibility of all cancer research at the HDFCCC using best practices and innovations in biostatistics and population sciences. In 2021 the Core was expanded to add population science-related expertise and resources to complement its biostatistical expertise to support a broader portfolio of population science research. These additional services are supported by faculty and staff of the UCSF DREAM Lab, a multidisciplinary research team with expertise in cancer epidemiology, social epidemiology, social and behavioral sciences, cancer surveillance, geographic information system (GIS), and data science.

(2) Catchment Area Dashboard

Dr. Debbie Oh will provide a brief overview of the expanded Catchment Area Dashboard, a customized tool that allows us to visualize sociodemo-graphic and behavioral variables and cancer statistics for the population in our catchment area, which can help spark new ideas for innovative research projects that address the needs of our communities. Dr. Oh will show how to use these tools to identify disparities and priorities for research.

-----------

This is a meeting of the Cancer Control Program of the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. For questions, please contact Kaya Balke (kaya.balke@ucsf.edu).
