Planners expect learners to:
1. Identify the importance of excellent history taking and documentation in cases of suspected abuse.
2. Identify the role and obligations of mandated reporters and how to make reports when necessary.
3. Broaden the differential diagnosis that is developed when evaluating cases of suspected physical abuse.
4. Identify the importance of normal development when interpreting medical findings in cases of suspected physical abuse.
