About this Event
John Chen, PhD, PharmD, OMD, LAc, is a recognized authority in both western pharmacology and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He has taught at various universities and given seminars on herb-drug interactions for regional, national, and international associations. Dr. Chen has published numerous articles and several books, including "Chinese Medical Herbology and Pharmacology" and "Chinese Herbal Formulas and Applications". He holds degrees from the University of Southern California School of Pharmacy and South Baylo University of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Chen is an adjunct professor at multiple universities, a member of various herbal medicine committees, and has appeared in documentaries and media promoting traditional Chinese medicine. He is also an editorial board member for several medical publications. Additionally, he is the President of Art of Medicine Press and a consultant for Evergreen Herbs. Dr. Chen’s expertise, educational contributions, and extensive involvement in herbal medicine and pharmacology make him a prominent figure in the field.

Explain the concepts of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic interactions in herb-drug interactions.
Summarize specific examples of herb-drug interactions
Recognize potential cautions and contraindications to proactively avoid and/or reduce adverse interactions and reactions.
