Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)
In celebration of international Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 16th, UCSF Web Services is hosting a drop-in event.
Stop by to become more aware about digital accessibility and celebrate the right of every individual to enjoy equal access to the Internet. Some of the activities include:
- Personal Device Accessibility Features: Drop in to learn about free accessibility features you might not know are available on your personal devices, such as enlarging text or reading text aloud on the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy.
- Screen Reader Demos: Experience what it’s like to hear a webpage. Have your UCSF website "read" by a screen reader with our consultant Marc Sutton to make sure vision-impaired users can get to all your content. Walk-ins welcome. First come first served.
- The "No Mouse" Challenge: Use the web without a mouse. Use the keyboard instead. Can you access all the features and operate all the buttons, sliders, and other controls without a mouse?
Please sign-up if you would like to attend so we can get an idea of how many people to expect.
