Presenter:

Dr. C. William (Bill) Balke is Chief of Cardiology at the Cochran VAMC; Professor of Medicine and Investigator in the Cardiovascular Research Center at the Washington University School of Medicine, and an Investigator in the Cardiac Bioelectricity and Arrhythmia Center, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Balke graduated from Temple University School of Medicine; he trained in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, cardiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School, clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and molecular physiology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Balke has a long-standing commitment to mentored career development mechanisms serving both as a national leader as well as mentoring within his research program.
