DESCRIPTION:Why do we perform experiments? What conclusions would we like t
o be able to draw from these experiments? Who are we trying to convince? H
ow does the “magic” of statistics help us reach conclusions?\n\nThis w
orkshop\, held in two sessions\, will in part attempt to answer some of th
ese questions. It’s open to anyone interested in learning more about the
basics of statistics\, experimental design\, and the fundamentals of hypo
thesis testing.\n\nThe first session will lay out the foundational concept
s\, while the last session will concentrate on the practical implementatio
n of some basic hypothesis tests and on performing statistical power analy
ses in R.\n\nThis is an introductory workshop in the Biostats series. No b
ackground in statistics\, prior experience\, or prerequisites are required
