University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

This workshop will teach attendees the conceptual and technical skills required to operate basic spreadsheet tools. Using Microsoft Excel (a commonly used tabular data program which shares functionality similar to platforms like Google Sheets and Airtable), this workshop will go over basic formulas and their uses in research organization and analysis, with specific interest in how they can be applied for humanistic scholars.

This workshop is designed for beginners, who want to learn more about Microsoft Excel’s functions, and those who wish to learn how to better use tabular data tools for their research. It is also built around the needs of humanists, who may lack training in computational and digital methods. Students, faculty, and staff are all welcome to attend.

Attendees will need to be able to open Microsoft Excel on their computers, either using a desktop application or web version provided with Microsoft 365.

UCSF welcomes all participants to our events. If you need a reasonable accommodation to participate in this event because of a disability, please contact Sean Purcell at sean.purcell@ucsf.edu as soon as possible.
