 cuss current plans in Congress and from candidates\, and best approaches a
 nd trickiest issues in implementing Medicare-for-All.\n\nJames G. Kahn\, M
 D\, MPH is professor in the Philip R. Lee Institute for Health Policy Stud
 ies\, The Institute for Global Health Sciences (IGHS)\, and the Department
  of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at UCSF. He is the founder and director
  of the UCSF Global Health Economics Consortium (GHECon). Dr. Kahn is an e
 xpert in cost-effectiveness analysis and associated methods of decision an
 alysis\, systematic review\, meta-analysis\, and costing. He has published
  widely on the cost and cost-effectiveness of HIV prevention and treatment
  in the developing world\, as well as on other health conditions (e.g.\, m
 alaria\, maternal health\, family planning\, neurology\, and orthopedics).
  For the U.S. setting\, he has published on HIV and STI economic and clini
 cal effectiveness issues\, as well as health system administrative ineffic
 iency.\n\n \n\nThe Institute for Global Health (IGHS) Grand Rounds showcas
 es the linkage between education and research by bringing together student
 s and researchers to discuss scientific advances in a range of fields and 
 their implications for global health. \n\nIGHS Executive Director Jaime Se
 pulveda\, MD\, DSc\, MPH\, hosts the monthly\, hour-long programs\, which 
 feature a 30-minute talk by the guest speaker followed by questions from S
 epulveda\, an IGHS master’s student and audience members.
