Gaps in Care among Hospitalized People with Substance Use Disorders

Marlene Martin, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF and a hospitalist at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. She is driven to improve care for vulnerable populations in the safety net. Her work has been published in JAMA Internal Medicine and NEJM. 

At ZSFG, Marlene is the physician lead for equitable care, a member of the Health Equity Council, and co-chair of the Care Transitions Taskforce for the San Francisco Health Network. Within the School of Medicine, she coaches the UCSF San Joaquin Valley Program in Medical Education (PRIME) students. Marlene is board certified in addiction medicine and founder and director of the Addiction Care Team, a consult service that delivers evidence-based care for hospitalized patients with substance use disorders.
