Community-Engaged Climate Change Solutions: Exposure Science and Intervention Research
Session moderated by Bob Wachter

Extreme weather and changing patterns of infectious diseases are occurring due to climate change, to increasingly devastating effect. In this Grand Rounds, you will learn about the myriad impacts of climate change on health from two of our own UCSF climate change experts. We’ll also discuss strategies to collaborate with communities to mitigate these impacts.

Speakers:
Gina Solomon, MD, MPH, is a professor of medicine, chief of the Division of Occupational, Environmental and Climate Medicine, and program director of the OECM Residency program. In her role as division chief, she oversees clinical, occupational, and environmental health at UCSF Health, ZSFG, and the SFVAMC. She previously served as the Deputy Secretary for Science and Health at the California EPA, and she founded and directed the Achieving Resilient Communities program at the Public Health Institute. Solomon is also currently chair of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District Advisory Council.

Matthew Gribble, PhD, is an associate professor of medicine and associate chief of research in the Division of Occupational, Environmental and Climate Medicine. He leads an environmental health research program and supports the development of environmental health research at UCSF.
