University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

32nd Annual Alice Hamilton Lecture:
Air Pollution, Asthma, Allergy, and the Exposome

Isabella Annesi-Maesano, MD, PhD, DSc
Session moderated by Allison Bond

Human health is inextricably linked to our environment and can vary depending on genetic factors, socioeconomic disparities, and cumulative exposure to various environmental risks throughout one's life, known as the exposome. In this year’s Annual Alice Hamilton Lecture, guest speaker and expert Isabella Annesi-Maesano will explore the complex relationship between respiratory health—particularly allergies and asthma—and an individual's exposure to pollution. We will also discuss how researchers are harnessing digital technology and analytics to create personalized strategies for preventing and alleviating asthma and allergies.

About the Annual Alice Hamilton Lecture:
Every year, our UCSF Division of Occupational, Environmental, and Climate Medicine (OECM) sponsors a lectureship in honor of Alice Hamilton, the founder of the modern discipline of occupational medicine in the U.S. View past lectures on the OECM website.
