More Money, Fewer Problems? Examining the Relationship Between Guaranteed Income and Housing Stability

Housing insecurity remains a major issue in the Bay Area, as it is in many parts of the country. Could providing a financial safety net help? In this Medical Grand Rounds, implementation science expert Oanh Nguyen will explore the current evidence and evaluate the relationship between guaranteed income and secure housing outcomes. Attendees will take a critical look at the methodologies of existing studies – providing an evidence-based lens to view this important national and local debate.

Speaker:
Oanh Nguyen, MD, MAS, is an associate professor and chief of the Division of Hospital Medicine at ZSFG. She is a deputy editor for the Journal of Hospital Medicine and the director of hospital care at the UCSF PRISE Center Program. Nguyen is a recipient of the Society of Hospital Medicine Outstanding Junior Investigator Award, the ZSFG Junior Investigator Award, and she was named a 2022 Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Investigator.
