University of California San Francisco Give to UCSF

UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice invite you to join us on Tuesday, June 14th at 12:00 PM for a discussion called “Culturally Centered, Community Driven Care” via Zoom. The talk will feature Jocelyn Boreta, Co-founder and Executive Director of The Botanical Bus, a bilingual mobile herb clinic that empowers holistic health by-and-for Lantinx and Indigenous clients through culturally relevant, community driven programs.

Jocelyn is granddaughter to an Indigenous Farmworker and her community activism has roots in 10-years working as Program Director of the Global Exchange Fair Trade Stores. Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Anthropology from University of California Santa Barbara and certification in herbalism from the California School of Herbal Studies.

You can register for the talk here and learn more about Jocelyn  and her work by visiting TheBotanicalBus.com. This lecture is free to attend but donations to Botanical Bus are strongly encouraged.

This event was planned by a diverse group of UCSF staff who organized in response to the ongoing racial injustices. The goal of the UCSF Healthcare Advocates for Social Justice monthly speaker series is to promote critical thinking and action around intersectional structures of power, privilege, and racial oppression in clinical care, education, and beyond. We will continue to highlight the efforts of community antiracism activists.
