Lessons Learned from Training Healthcare Staff:

Reflections on 20 Years Providing LGBTQ Education

The Center for Sexual and Gender Minority Health is pleased to host Shane Snowdon as a part of our Grand Rounds series. Shane Snowdon has provided LGBTQ training to tens of thousands of healthcare workers nationwide over the last twenty years, both online and in person. In this talk, she discusses key lessons learned from her experience providing education to staff in diverse healthcare roles, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. What has proved most and least effective? What has proved most difficult, and what has been most satisfying? What does she wish she had known sooner? This lively, down-to-earth talk will explore the ups and downs of providing LGBTQ education in healthcare.
