Copyright: Images, open content, and fair use

This workshop will cover finding and using images in education, using open access publications and other open content, and how to apply fair use if using copyright protected materials in your lectures. The workshop will provide a number of sources of images for use in course lectures, including free and open images, and images in licensed resources available through the library.

After attending this 60-minute workshop, you will be able to:

  • Feel confident that you are in compliance with copyright law
  • Be able to conduct a fair use analysis (risk assessment)
  • Understand when and how to request permissions for the use of copyright protected content
