Objectives: 

  • Walk away with at least 3 evidence-based responses to common questions patients ask about nutrition and their skin condition
  • Be able to direct patients to 1-2 resources to help apply your nutrition recommendations

 

Root Awakening: Hair Restoration Techniques, Trends, and Outcomes

Taylor Jamerson, MD, PGY-4 Dermatology Resident, UCSF

Objectives: 

  • Review up-to-date medical and procedural approaches to hair restoration
  • Review approaches to patient counseling on hair restoration in academic medical dermatology clinical settings
  • Review resources for patients interested in pursing hair transplantation

The Skin Microbiome in Health and Disease

Garrett Patrick, MD, PhD, PGY-4 Dermatology, Resident, UCSF

Objectives: 

  • Understand the landscape of the healthy skin microbiome and mechanisms for studying its composition. 
  •  Learn the relationships between microbial dysbiosis and skin pathology. 
  •  Explore microbiome directed therapies both present and future
